Summary


Mark Buse advises clients on cross-border commercial and corporate matters between Germany and Italy. He studied law at the University of Freiburg, where he graduated top of his class and received the Konrad-Hesse Prize. After completing his legal clerkship in Stuttgart, he earned his LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Mark is admitted to practice in Germany and the State of New York and is currently pursuing his doctorate at the University of Freiburg. He joined the firm in 2025.

2019–2021: Legal clerkship (Referendariat) with placements at:

  • A law firm before the Federal Court of Justice (Bundesgerichtshof)

  • The German Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht)

2021: Second State Examination in Law and admission to the German Bar

2022–2023: LL.M. (Harvard Law School)

Since 2023: Ph.D. candidate at the University of Freiburg under the supervision of Professor Andreas Voßkuhle, President Emeritus of the Federal Constitutional Court

2024: Admitted to the New York State Bar

2024: Research stay at Harvard Law School, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
